Mom’s Sitting Room

My mom and I had a fun time transforming this room in her house. It’s basically the first room you see when you walk in the house, so we wanted it to feel cozy and welcoming! It had functioned as an office for my dad for a while and then had sit empty, so it was desperately needing some new life! It took us from February to August to get it mostly complete, but the wait was worth it!

I started with this mood board and then we began to choose paint and furnishings. We ordered the couch and two chairs from pottery barn and settled on Pale Oak by Benjamin Moore for the paint color.

We ordered the sage, light blue, and grey rug from Magnolia and it turned into a major source of inspiration! The other major game changer in this room was my mom finally deciding on custom shades and curtains from Martha and Ash. We finished off the room with a lot of fun, decorative touches with pillow covers from Etsy, side tables from Target and Wayfair, Lamps from Wayfair and Homegoods, a basket for blankets from Homegoods, pouf from Homegoods, and botanical prints from our local lighting shop, Decorative Lighting (found them when we weren’t even looking, which is always how it goes)!
