Wedding Day: Our Reception

When we arrived at McBryde, we all went to the Tuttle Room, a room off to the side of the ballroom where we would wait until we were introduced. This was the first time all day I felt even a little nervous, but I think it was more excitement than nervousness. Our bridal party was all lined up to be introduced and coming up with cute little dances to do. We were about to enter our reception…what!? I could not wait to see how McBryde looked and party with so many of our friends!!

Wedding Day: Our Ceremony

The ceremony was so beautiful and the Lord so present. The gospel was presented, we worshiped through song, and exchanged our written vows. Luke choked up as he said his vows and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room. I don’t ever want to forget what it felt like to worship the Lord and marry the love of my life in front of some of the most influential and loving people we’ve ever known.

Wedding Day: Getting Ready

When I woke up, I felt completely rested and awake (which is crazy because I literally require like 9 hours of sleep a night haha). I joked with all of my bridesmaids that I woke up, sat straight up, and was like “it’s my time to shine.” I know..diva, but I WAS SO PUMPED. It was the most beautiful day – 100% sunny, with a low of 32 and a high of 56 – just the weather we had so many people praying for.

Rehearsal & Rehearsal Dinner

It was time for the Rehearsal. Mama and I went to the church earlier than everyone else to meet Luke so we could hear our musicians practice. We had a pianist/organist and violinist as well as three of our close friends sing/play guitar – Meg, Andrew, and Parker. Luke and I spent much time praying and deliberating over our music choices, as we are both very musical, so this time was so special for us to hear it come together.

Wedding Week

With this week being the week of mine and Luke’s 1st anniversary, I wanted to take time to reflect on all of the fun events of this time last year. I made little notes during my wedding week to try and help me remember the course of events and told myself I would blog about them at some point – so better late than never, right?
