Anna Stephens’ Nursery

Decorating the nursery was a fun project for Luke and I. Since we did not find out the gender prior to birth, we got creative with creating a gender neutral nursery where more color could be added in later. I knew I wanted the lyrics from “Head to Toe” by Christy Nockels above the crib and it’s been a dream come true singing them over our baby girl many nights.

Since Anna Stephens has been born, we’ve added a pink rug and a few girly touches throughout the room. The shelves above her dresser are my favorite, as they hold pictures, her baby book (Promptly Journal), a ceramic baby bootie that was my Nanny’s (her namesake), a small commission of us pregnant and art of her 20 week ultrasound that my friend Melissa gave us, blessing beads our neighbor gave us, her name sign from the hospital, and a jellycat stuffed animal that looks like Willow!

This room has become the sweetest haven for us, especially in the evenings before bed. We put her on the changing mat, lotion her up, clothe her in fresh jammies, rock her while feeding, read a book, then sing a song and pray. It’s been two months and I still can’t get over that we have a daughter and that she’s really mine to keep. I just love her so!
