Saying Goodbye to Our First Home

When Luke and I found out we had to move from our sweet little rental farmhouse rather suddenly, the first thing we decided to do was to hire someone to photograph us in our home for us to look back on in years to come, pictures we could show our children and say, “This is where it all started.”

I knew Cameron from Cameron Faye Photography was the perfect person to capture these moments for us, and I couldn’t have been more right 😉 Cameron is literally an angel and her sweet spirit and talent made Luke and I feel so comfortable and so free to be us. She felt like a best friend upon leaving and we are so blessed by her and these images!

Us walking around the land we called home for 2 years and where Luke proposed. Dancing in the kitchen where Luke made almost all of our meals. Cuddling on the couch where we had many a movie night with pizza and nestle toll house chocolate chip cookies. Sipping coffee in the bedroom on a slow Saturday morning. Inside the doors that housed our first married moments and witnessed all the laughter, dance parties, joy, arguments, tears and growth in between. The rooms that taught me how to decorate and awakened in me a love for hosting. Every guest and gathering. Moments we will treasure and cherish forever.

We praise Jesus for the beautiful season we had in our first home, and we are expectant for where he takes us next. As so many precious friends and family have reminded us –  home is a person, not a place. Home is one another. Home is Jesus.
