April was a beautiful month and a great start to Spring, but I think the weather was crazier than ever. It literally snowed in Rock Hill, SC on April 2nd and less than 24 hours later it was SUNNY and around 80 degrees. We had some intense storms with flooding this month. We got outside and Luke mowed the yard for the first time since we moved in and we spent over 2 hours blowing pollen and picking up limbs, but it felt so good to be outdoors. I can’t wait for us to start our nightly neighborhood walks soon!
The beginning of April was so busy and stressful with the finishing up of Tax Season on April 15th, but the past few weeks have been a nice, slower pace. Because of Spring Break, even though we didn’t get time off, we had time off from a lot of our weekly evening commitments, which gave us extra time to settle around the house, prepare for Willow to join our family (LOL), lunch dates with my teacher friends, have Alli and Andrew over and just relax and enjoy each other’s company. I also had a spa day that my mom gifted me for my birthday and it was so fabulous. I wish I could have a facial and massage every month…or week to be honest 🙂
We celebrated Easter and Luke’s 27th Birthday, which happened to fall on the same day this year! We had an amazing morning at church, hosted friends for Easter lunch and just had a sweet, relaxing day filled with naps and good company. Easter also concluded my 40 day social media fast, which was just so good and refreshing and brought a new perspective for me in regards to how I depend on my phone and how I connect with others. Thankful for all the Lord taught me and will continue to teach me, but also happy to be back on social media and to enjoy the good while setting boundaries against what can be harmful. We also set up some patio furniture and I am sooo excited to start living out there during these summer evenings coming up!
On April 27th, we picked up our puppy and our lives just got a whole lot crazier! Meet Willow Jane Hamilton – our 6lb, 7 week old sheepadoodle. She is the cutest, snuggliest, calmest little fluff ball and we love her. I didn’t believe it, but she truly is hypoallergenic and non shedding – literally haven’t seen a single hair anywhere. Even when we brush her, just the tiniest bit of fuzz will come out. I’ve definitely been overwhelmed by puppy life because I’ve never really had a dog before, but each day gets a little smoother and I know she will be such a sweet companion for us and our family for years to come! She will be around 60-80 pounds full grown! We love you, Willow girl!!
